Make Art & Play

(4 - 5 years old)

TUESDAYS

3:45 pm - 4:45 pm

Make Art & Play is designed for children 4-5 years old and centered around the idea of freely exploring and enjoying the process of creation. During this class we will set up an invitation to create by introducing new materials and activities that inspire creative thinking and art making; we will share and collaborate, play together in large sensory bins, dance and listen to carefully selected stories. Art as play is an open-ended, experiential, unstructured, self-paced and unique process-based approach.

$120.00 / 7-class session

Kinder Artists

Kinder Artists are guided through the creative process through encouragement of original and creative self-expression. We focus on the experience of creating and making rather than the end result, and on the connection each child has with the materials throughout the experience.  Each week explore a different media (such as painting, sculpting, printmaking, drawing, mixed media) while learning about art elements and fine art principles.

Puppet Theater Fridays

(8-16 years old)

FRIDAYS

4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Become part of the ancient tradition of puppet making and puppeteering!

With a puppet, anyone can step into the land of fairytales and experience something magical and unforgettable.

The puppets can be made out of everyday materials, and yet they encourage creativity on several different levels: from language, social and emotional development to improved listening and motor skills to building self-confidence. In Puppet Theater Fridays class students will create their own puppet shows including designing and making their own puppets, scenery, sets and puppet theater, as well as putting on a production.  Students will take home all their creations - the puppets, scenery, miniature sets, and theater boxes -  so they continue to share with their family and friends the wonderful power that theatrical puppets possess.

This is a 90-minute class that meets once a week for the duration of 14 weeks (September - December)
