Art Adventurers is open to young artists ages 4-8, with projects thoughtfully curated so that each child participates at their own level. To support their pace, younger children (ages 4-5) will begin class 15 minutes later, giving them a comfortable 60-minute class while older students enjoy full class time.

Throughout the 8 class session, Art Adventurers will explore a rich variety of art media and creative processes while gently learning about the elements of art.

Children will experiment with printmaking, basic 3-D sculpture, drawing and collage through both individual and collaborative projects. â€‹

Our focus is always on the joy of creating rather than the finished product - encouraging children to experiment, make discoveries and connect meaningfully with the materials in front of them.

THURSDAYS

In our new From Pixels To Paint: Interpreting AI Art Through Human Imagination  3-session class, students will explore the intersection of technology and traditional art-making by using artificial intelligence as a creative springboard. Through guided exercises and studio time, participants will generate AI images based on the descriptive prompts, analyze and interpret those results, and then translate their chose image into a unique work of art using traditional media. Along the way, we'll examine what it means to be creative in the new era of AI, and how to embrace randomness as a part of the artistic process.

  • Session 1: Prompt and Play

Learn how AI art is created, write image prompts, and generate several AI artworks. Begin sketching ideas in response

  • Session 2: From Digital to Physical

Choose your AI image, develop a traditional drawing or painting inspired by it, and explore your personal response to the machine-generated imagery

  • Session 3: Meaning & Making

Complete your artwork, write an artist statemen and reflect on the roles of intention, interpretation and randomness in art today
