Winter-Spring 2023
Spring Semester: April 18 - May 23, 2023 (6 weeks)
Students may join some programs after the start of a session.
Once a ship sailed in the Atlantic Ocean with a chest full of gold coins on board. Then suddenly a terrible storm began and the ship sank! For a hundred years, it has been resting on the seabed, and it is guarded by a toothy shark. Only the bravest and most friendly pirates will be able to get a chest of gold!
Friends will prepare a pirate flag or paint bandanas, study the route, agree on the rules on the ship, appoint the birthday boy or girl as captain and go on an adventure! We have to study the mystery of pirates, learn how to tie sea knots and unravel nets! We will get caught in a storm and find ourselves in the fog, learn the legend of the lonely mountain and find the Bay of Horror, which is guarded by a toothy shark!
Of course, gold will be found - a great reason to visit the tavern and congratulate the main sea wolf on his birthday!
In the program: adventure game; ciphers and riddles; creative workshop for painting bandana; experiments; piñata with surprises and a chest with gold
Your baby is growing fast! Come discover, explore and create each week at our many sensory play stations that are all open ended, hands on and child led. Opportunities to explore a variety of new sensory play materials and engage in early art experiences are party of this four week class.
Join us in supporting baby as they safely explore their environment, learn new skills and build community with other babies and caregivers. Think of this class like the best messy play date that you don’t have to clean up!
Make Art & Play is designed for children 4-5 years old and centered around the idea of freely exploring and enjoying the process of creation.
During this class we will set up an invitation to create by introducing new materials and activities that inspire creative thinking and art making; we will share and collaborate, work individually and play together in large sensory bins. Art as play is an open-ended, experiential, unstructured, self-paced and unique process-based approach.
Art Sparklers will expand their creativity through working on group and individual projects while exploring a variety of subject matter and different media - painting, sculpting, printmaking, drawing, and collage.
We focus on the experience of creating and making rather than the end result, and on the connection each student has with the materials throughout the art making experience.
Art Shuffle invites students to create art through various materials. Students will experiment with drawing, painting, sculpture, installations and mixed media using a vide variety of materials (pencil, pen/ink, clay, acrylic paint, watercolor, colored pencil, gouache, pastels, and charcoal).
The individual and collaborative projects will encourage students to expand their creativity, learn new techniques in various mediums, and explore a variety of subject matter.
