July 2021 Art Camps

July 6 - July 9  (Ages: 8+)  
4-day Teeny-Tiny House (*) 
9:00am - 1:30pm 
Is your doll or another tiny creature in need of a beautiful place to live? If so, this camp is for you. The plywood houses will be our canvases for the week, and will provide an opportunity for each camper to design a house to their liking – whether it is for dolls, superheroes, animals, firefighters, policemen, or veterinarians. Each camper will paint and decorate their house by making wallpaper, artwork, furniture, and more. We will paint, print, build, sculpt and stretch our creativity muscle to see how we can up-cycle everyday objects to create one of a kind teeny-tiny houses
The cost: $195.00/4-day week 
(*) A half a day option (9:00am - 11:00am) is available for campers ages 6-7: $90.00/4-day week.

 

July 6 - July 9  (Ages: 4-7)  
4-day Art Play - III
3:00pm - 4:30pm
This delightfully messy art camp is full of sensory play and art making (with shaving cream and ice, for example). It includes age-appropriate art exploration and instructed projects.  Young campers will enjoy drawing, sculpting, printing, and constructing with varied materials. We have a wide range of projects, topics, and materials to spark the creativity and curiosity of our young campers, so no one (especially returning campers) ever gets bored. Each one of five Art Play camps is unique. Art Play III is NOT identical to Art Play I-II & IV-V
The cost: $85.00/week 
 

 

 

July 12 - July 16 (Ages 10+)

Self-Expression in Art 

9:00am - 1:30pm

Come to camp prepared to learn more about your personal relationship with art. We will explore the world of aesthetics and what goes into art making. Through observation and special attention to detail, students will learn about the fundamentals of art and design. The subject matter may include portraits, landscapes and still life, or anything that strikes the camper’s interest. A range of media, art forms, and inspirations will be explored including drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture! Engaging projects are organized so that students are working on a similar theme, but with freedom for each to be creative and add their own ideas. 

 

The cost: $245.00 / week

 

 

July 12 - July 16 (Ages 6-9)

Animal Mash-up Art

2:30pm - 4:30pm

Create bizarre animal mash-ups using a variety of media. Imaginations will run wild as you explore collage, drawing, painting, and clay and cardboard sculpture all based on the theme of fantastical hybrid animals. 
 
The cost: $140.00/week
 

 

July 19 - July 23 (Ages 4-6)

Art Play – IV 

9:00am - 10:30am

The cost: $105.00 / week

July 19 - July 23 (Ages 8+)

Fairies & Robots (*) 

12:00pm - 3:30pm 

Nuts and bolts; sticks and flowers; glitter and glue. Mix well. Then sprinkle with stories of fairies and of the worlds inhabited by robots. Combine lots and lots of creative juices with the mixture and steep for five days. Voilà! Make room for the amazing projects your camper will bring home at the end of the week. Returning campers will be excited about this year’s new art projects.
The cost: $195.00/week

 

(*)A half a day option (12:00pm - 1:30pm) is available for campers ages 5-7: $105.00/week

July 26 - July 30 (Ages 8+)

Theater In A Box  

9:00am - 1:30pm

(The Snail & The Whale by Julia Donoldson)

Lights, shadow, action! This week’s camp is ALL about putting on a show. Drama has enormous learning benefits for children and their development. Students will design and sculpt all the puppets – the characters in Julia Donaldson’s “The Snail & The Whale” story - create miniature box theaters, draw and paint all the scenery, and will get ready to present their own puppet show in front of the audience at the end of the camp. Students will get to take home their miniature box theaters, the scenery and the puppets. In this session students will also create various types of puppets using paper, clay, mixed media, paper mache and more. Become part of the ancient tradition of puppet making and puppeteering all week!

July 26 - 30 (Ages: 5-9)
Dinosaurs Before Dark  
2:30 pm - 4:30pm
 
Come play, explore and create in the prehistoric land. Dinosaur Terrariums Loosely based on Mary Osborne’s Dinosaurs Before Dark kid’s novel Learn about and breathe life into your own mythological and historical creatures through the visual arts! Build, Sculpt your dinosaurs, build their terrariums, dig for their bones, invent your own adventures draw and paint and create their terrariums.
The cost:  $140.00/week
