Mystical Animals 9:30am - 1:00pm*

Let’s create our own mystical animals inspired by Marc Chagall’s flying cows, Henri Matisse’s blue cats, Nico Pirosmani’s deer and giraffes, and Morris Hirshfield’s majestic lions!

We will begin each day by viewing an artists’s work and studying the expressive qualities that make an artist’s language unique to inspire our own work. We then will talk about the basic shapes of the animal’s body, learn to draw it, and practice sketching from photographs. When we are sufficiently warmed up, we will create our own pastel painting of a mystical animal in the style of each day’s featured artist.
